SONG OF THE WEEK “We Go All Together Now”
...“A singing voice in a world gone blind”—This song came to me fast!—A straight-from-the-soul idea that may have been inspired by photos from the Civil Rights Movement, or maybe “visions of Heaven” where friends and enemies, lovers and ex-lovers, come together and forget their differences.
At the time I was having a case of “home demo madness,” and my friend Adam Savetsky loaned me his Rickenbacker 360 guitar and I rush-recorded tracks with it before it had to go back.
I forgot about this 4-track demo for years and recently revived it. Musically it’s inspired by The Beatles and King Crimson, with a guitar part imagining John Lennon if he took lessons from Robert Fripp...
