FRIDAY FLASHBACK “Beauty Descend” by Ron Fleeger
The time machine lands on 2001. Bad Light Project was a band of high school guys doing serious alternative rock, bringing me on to produce their first album. They excited the regional music scene of central Pennsylvania but suddenly folded in 2001, allowing frontman Ron Fleeger to morph into a solo act as a singer-songwriter (he went on to an eclectic recording career and is still on the circuit). Around then he and I worked on a 3-song transitionary project that (for reasons I can't remember) went unfinished, but even the rough mixes felt pretty good to me. This is one from that set—on Ron knows what the song’s about, but there was an energetic and dream-like promise to it. On a cosmic jukebox this would play between Dave Matthews Band, Spin Doctors, and Sting.
